What is a Rosca de Reyes?
Three Kings Day, or Día de los Reyes, is a cherished Hispanic tradition celebrated on January 6th that commemorates the arrival of the Three Wise Men—Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar—who journeyed to present gifts to the newborn Jesus. This day symbolizes hope, generosity, and the joy of giving, bringing families and communities together.
The highlight of the festivities is the Rosca de Reyes, a sweet bread shaped like a crown and adorned with candied fruits that represent jewels. Traditionally, a small figurine of baby Jesus is hidden within the bread, and the person who finds it is honored as the host for a gathering on Día de la Candelaria (Candlemas) on February 2nd. Please note that for the safety of all attendees, including children, our Rosca de Reyes does not include baby figurines.
We invite everyone to come together to celebrate this beautiful tradition while also supporting a worthy cause. By participating, attendees help raise funds for the Tri-Cities Cancer Foundation, making a positive impact in the lives of patients and their families. Join us in honoring the spirit of Three Kings Day and fostering a sense of community!
